Cookie Notice
Version 1.3 · 2026-09-01 · The park-switcher cookie was dropped with multi-property; the code no longer sets it. Professional ePrivacy review required before live use.
This notice describes every cookie CampsiteOS sets. There are no others, and there is no consent banner — because there is nothing here to consent to.
The short version
We set no cookies on the guest-facing campsite pages. A guest browsing a campsite page, opening their booking link or reading the on-site guide is not given a cookie by us, is not tracked, and is not profiled. There is no analytics tag, no advertising pixel, no third-party script and no cross-site identifier anywhere in the product.
The operator dashboard sets the cookies it needs in order to work at all. The public roadmap sets one purpose-built anonymous browser identifier after a visitor votes or submits an idea, solely to prevent repeat votes and repeated spam. Under ePrivacy Art. 5(3) these are strictly necessary for the service the visitor requested, which is why no consent is asked for them.
Every cookie we set
| Cookie | Set when | Purpose | Lifetime |
| Session cookie (`better-auth` session token) | You sign in to the operator dashboard | Keeps you signed in. Without it every page load would ask for your password again. `HttpOnly`, `SameSite=Lax`. | Until the session expires or you sign out |
| `mollie_oauth_state` | You start connecting a Mollie payment account | A one-time random value that proves the reply came back from the flow you started (CSRF protection). Deleted as soon as the connection completes. | Minutes |
| `sidebar_state` | You collapse or expand the dashboard sidebar | Remembers that choice. A display preference, nothing more. | 7 days |
All five are first-party. None of them is read by anyone but us, none leaves our domain, and none is used to build a profile, measure an audience or target advertising. The roadmap identifier is not connected to an account, name, email address or persisted IP address.
What we do NOT do
- No Google Analytics, Meta pixel, TikTok pixel, LinkedIn tag or any other analytics or advertising technology.
- No cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, no session recording, no heatmaps.
- No cookies of any kind on the campsite subdomains — the pages a guest actually sees.
- No advertising, ever — we sell software to campsites, not attention to advertisers.
Local storage
The on-site guest guide (`/guide` on your campsite’s subdomain) can be installed as an offline app. When it is, your browser caches the park map and the guidebook on your own device so they still work at a barrier with no reception. That cache never leaves your phone, is not readable by us, and is cleared when you remove the page from your home screen or clear your browser data. It is storage you asked for, for a feature you turned on.
Changes
If we ever add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask you for consent before setting it, and this page will say so first. Until then, this table is the whole truth.
